French Press / Chemex / Pour Over/Drip
The Baba Budan Giri region is perhaps the second oldest cultivated area for coffee in the world after its origins in Africa. Legend has it that the Sufi saint risked punishment by death by hiding seven beans of coffee in his beard which he then sowed in the Giri Hills and the rest is history.
This specialty Arabica micro-lot, grown at elevations between 3800 to 4100 FSL, has been specially treated post-harvest and sun-dried with most of the fruit intact, rendering it a unique, sweet, mellow taste also known as Red honey in coffee taster’s parlance. Shade grown amidst very high and ancient permanent hardwood shade trees, some of them over a century old, this coffee is naturally bird and bee-pollinated.
A rare coffee with a medium roast, so as to enhance its fruity flavour, this coffee available in limited quantities, is truly a connoisseur’s delight.
This is a versatile blend and brews well as a cold brew.
Grind Size: Coarse like rough sand.
The ratio of Coffee to Water is 1:10 . It’s important that the water is filtered as hard water is an impediment to good brewing. Time taken 16-24 hours, some trial and error to achieve the perfect desired quality.
