The high elevation Alpine climate with unique terroir, lends Darjeeling teas a rare and unique flavour called ‘Muscatel’, much like Muscat grapes. This rare flavour is more pronounced during a short period of time, usually lasting two, or three weeks during the peak of summer. This is also considered prime second flush harvest. A Motley Brew blend featuring the best of the higher elevation teas with pronounced Muscatel flavour. Much has been said and written about this unique flavour, which is best enjoyed rather than described as it evokes different thoughts in different people.
Sometimes the best things are best left alone, however, these teas can absorb just a spot of milk if desired .
A perfect tea for anytime of the day, but it does make for a special mid-morning cuppa with some small bites. It is also a great cup for a good, and elaborate English High Tea afternoon with light sandwiches, cakes, and sweet bakery products like pastries, cookies, and madelines. A personal favourite is a piece of well-crafted chocolate with nuts, and raisins.
